3 Steps To Getting A Job Offshore And Inland

3 Steps To Getting A Job On Boats Offshore And Inland

over the years people have been asking me how to get a job offshore on boats making the big money. I just tell them to find a company and apply for a job. What most people have a problem with is finding companies that are hiring. You can look in the newspaper or online in help wanted sections but guess what, hundreds of people already applied for that job and what are the chances you get that job? If your a captain looking for a job this will help you too. If your a deckhand with or without exp. this will help you too.

If you follow these simple 3 steps you will get a job.

Step #1
Write a resume with all your history of jobs you had. Most companies wont ask for this but it is good to have just incase they do. Since you have a computer I recommend saving it to your computer so you can email it .

Step #2
Gather a list of companies to call. The more companies you call the better job offers you get. If you don't have any companies yet or don't know where to find them visit Offshore and Inland Boat Companies

Step #3
Incase you don't know what to say when you call I will give you a few words. When the other party answers the phone just say " I WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK TO THE PERSON INCHARGE OF HIRING" When the person answers the phone just say " HI MY NAME IS what ever your name is AND IM CALLING TO SEE IF YOU HAVE ANY OPENINGS FOR A what ever your applying for. captain or deckhand POSITION.

Now that wasn't hard at all was it? For all the people interested in being a deckhand and would like to see a sample of some of the duties they will perform other than what the captain ask you to do visit Sample Of Deckhand Duties If you find this post very helpful please let me know.
